End-to-End Audio Development with Pascal

At Pascal, we help transform audio product ideas into reliable, production-ready solutions — without adding complexity to your organization.

Through Pascal Custom Solutions, we offer a scalable partnership model designed to match the needs of a wide range of audio customers and business cases — from proven platforms to fully custom development. Whether you need to get to market quickly with a reliable solution, build something distinctly your own on a proven foundation, or develop a fully custom product from the ground up, we can take you there.

Working in close alignment with you, we develop and deliver audio solutions built around your specific requirements — at the level of engagement that fits your project. This lets you stay focused on what matters most: your customers, your brand, and your market position — while we take responsibility for execution.

Pascal is the only audio partner in the world that covers this full range — from fast-turnaround ODM with light customization, through to fully custom JDM developed to your specification. And we deliver each tier with the same engineering thoroughness, the same supply chain backbone, and the same lifecycle responsibility. The level of customization changes between ODM, ODM+, and JDM. The standard behind it does not.

The same standard. The right scope for your project.

Three Levels of Engagement

Not every audio project requires the same level of involvement. That's why we offer three partnership tiers, each designed to deliver the right balance of speed, customization, and engineering depth:

ODM. Our proven audio platforms, fast to market. For brands who need a reliable, production-ready solution with branded cosmetics and the fastest possible time-to-market.

ODM+. Adapted to your needs, built on proven technology. For brands who want a product that's clearly their own — without changing more than necessary.

JDM. Fully custom, developed to your vision from the ground up. For brands building something genuinely their own — designed around specific performance targets, a distinct user experience, and a brand identity that standard solutions can't deliver.

The best partnership isn't always the most ambitious one — it's the one that matches what your project needs.

Choosing the Right Tier

It's tempting to look at our three partnership tiers and reach for the most comprehensive one. JDM always sounds better than ODM+. ODM+ sounds better than ODM. The bigger engagement feels like the safer bet.

In our experience, that instinct leads to the wrong answer more often than it leads to the right one.

All three tiers are premium offerings — built on the same engineering, the same supply chain, the same lifecycle commitment. What changes between them is not the quality of what you get, but the depth of engagement required to get there. The best partnership for your project isn't the most ambitious one — it's the one that matches what your project actually needs to succeed.

Every tier involves trade-offs. JDM gives you complete control over the product, but costs more time, more investment, and more internal capacity than ODM or ODM+. ODM gets you to market fast and efficiently, with a proven Pascal platform carrying your brand. ODM+ sits between them, and that "between" only makes sense if you can articulate where it sits for your product.

The most useful exercise you can do before this conversation is to separate need-to-haves from nice-to-haves.

A custom chassis might be a need-to-have if your product lives in a category where industrial design is the differentiation. It might be a nice-to-have if your customers actually care about a different feature entirely. A custom acoustic profile might be a need-to-have for a high-end loudspeaker brand. It might be a nice-to-have for a hospitality install where reliability and serviceability matter more than the last 2dB of performance.

There is no universal answer. There is only the honest answer for your project, your market, and your customers.

Some useful questions to ask before we talk.

What Matters Most to You?

Different projects come to us with different priorities. Some of the most useful questions to ask yourself before we talk:

Speed and resources

  • Is faster time-to-market a priority?
  • Do you want to lower your R&D loading or fully outsource development?
  • Would product management guidance from us add value to your project?

Product differentiation

  • Do you need a unique look and feel?
  • Do you need a unique user experience?
  • Are there special features you need to bring to market?
  • Do you want access to modern technology — and a catalogue of proven technology to draw from?

Performance and quality

  • Is improved audio performance a priority?
  • Is improved reliability central to your category or customer base?

Commercial and operational

  • Are you looking for cost optimization versus in-house development?
  • Do you need supply chain resilience and long-term sustain engineering?
  • Do you need reliable timelines and predictable project costs?
  • Does your brand need a compelling marketing story behind the product?

Proven platforms, fast to market.

Pascal ODM

What ODM Looks Like in Practice

ODM is the most direct path from decision to delivery. You select a proven Pascal platform, agree on branding and cosmetics, and we deliver a production-ready product carrying your identity. No specification phase, no engineering programme, no development risk. The platform already exists, already performs, and is already in volume production. The right model when speed and certainty matter more than differentiation at the product level.

Who ODM Is For

ODM works for two main types of customer: smaller brands who need a reliable audio product without building an engineering function around it, and established brands filling a gap in a peripheral category where speed-to-market matters more than building something unique. In both cases, the brand value sits in the customer's market position and channel — not in the audio hardware itself.

Is ODM the Right Fit?

Is speed your most important criterion?
If you need product on the shelf in months rather than a year or more, ODM is the only tier that can deliver that. ODM+ and JDM involve real development time. ODM does not.

Are you comfortable with branded cosmetics as your differentiation?
ODM is about the outside of the product, not the inside. If your differentiation lives in your brand, your distribution, or the category context, ODM is highly efficient.

Do you need a low-risk, low-commitment entry point?
ODM involves very limited NRE, low MOQs, and a short lead time — the right tier when you want to test a category, fill a product line, or move quickly without committing to a development programme.

What You Get with ODM

The same Pascal backbone as every other tier — certification, supply chain management, manufacturing quality, and full lifecycle support. The difference is scope, not standard.

Adapted to your needs, built on proventechnology.

Pascal ODM+

What ODM+ Looks Like in Practice

ODM+ starts from a proven Pascal platform and adapts it to your product — beyond cosmetics: repositioned outputs, custom chassis, colour treatments, added displays, modified I/O, and where it makes sense, limited new technology. The platform foundation keeps engineering effort focused and the timeline manageable. Your input shapes what the product looks like, how it integrates, and how it presents to the end user.

Who ODM+ Is For

ODM+ is for brands who can't accept a product identical to what others are putting in the market — but who don't need to go all the way to fully custom development. Typically established brands with a clear sense of their product identity, who want their offering to feel distinctly theirs without building from the ground up. ODM+ lets them change what needs to change, and nothing more.

Is ODM+ the Right Fit?

Is uniqueness important — but not at any cost?
ODM+ exists for the space between "off-the-shelf with our logo" and "developed entirely for us." If your product needs to feel like yours but the underlying audio architecture doesn't need reinventing, ODM+ delivers that without the time and investment of a JDM engagement.

Do you have a clear sense of what needs to change?
ODM+ works best when you can articulate which elements matter and which you're happy to inherit from a proven platform. The clearer that brief, the more efficient the engagement.

Are you prepared for a moderate development cycle?
ODM+ typically runs 6–12 months from kickoff to production. Faster than JDM, but still a real development programme — not a procurement decision.

What You Get with ODM+

Full Pascal engineering involvement on the adaptation work. Certification managed for the adapted platform. The same supply chain, manufacturing, and lifecycle support that runs through every Pascal partnership.

Fully custom, developed to your visionfrom the ground up.

Pascal JDM

What JDM Looks Like in Practice

JDM is for products that don't yet exist. You bring the vision, the performance targets, the brand identity, and the market context. We bring the engineering, industrialization, and manufacturing capability to turn that into a production-ready product — and the long-term commitment to keep it performing over its commercial life. The product is designed around your specifications, your design language, and your customers. There is no fixed platform to start from.

Who JDM Is For

JDM is for brands building something genuinely their own — around specific performance targets, a distinct user experience, or a brand identity that standard solutions can't deliver. The partnerships that work best are with companies who have a clear product vision and the conviction to see it through, are building for a defined market with real end-user requirements, understand that custom development takes time, and are ready to engage as a partner, not just a client. Scale matters — not because we measure relationships by volume, but because a JDM engagement only makes commercial sense when the opportunity justifies it on both sides.

Is JDM the Right Fit?

Do you have a product vision that goes beyond off-the-shelf?
JDM is built for companies developing something genuinely their own. If your needs can be met through platform adaptation, ODM+ may be a more efficient route.

Are you building for meaningful, sustained volume?
Custom development involves significant upfront investment. That investment only makes sense when the product will be produced at a scale that justifies it. If you're still validating market demand, that conversation needs to happen first.

Do you have the internal capacity to be a genuine development partner?
JDM is collaborative by design. It requires a counterpart who can make product decisions and maintain alignment across a process that typically spans 10 to 18 months. Without that resource in place, the process will struggle — regardless of how strong the brief is.

What changes is scope. What doesn't is what we deliver.

One Standard, Three Levels of Engagement

Across all three tiers, Pascal takes the same responsibilities seriously.

Engineering quality.
Whether you're adopting a proven platform or developing a product from scratch, the engineering underneath is Pascal engineering — held to the same standards across the board.

Certification and compliance.
We manage certification at every tier — re-used for ODM, adapted for ODM+, and developed from scratch for JDM.

Supply chain and manufacturing.
The same factory, the same supplier base, the same quality processes. An ODM product comes off the same line as a JDM product.

Lifecycle ownership.
We stay accountable for your product throughout its commercial life. Component changes, redesigns, supply continuity, end-of-life — managed at every tier.

What changes between tiers is the depth of engineering scope and the degree of customization. What does not change is the standard behind it.

This is what makes Pascal a different kind of partner: we can meet you where your project actually is, without compromising what we deliver.

End-to-End Custom Solutions

You always know where your product stands. One team owns the outcome from first concept to end-of-life. The timeline holds, and problems surface early — while they're still easy to fix.

That's what these seven stages look like in practice: built on open communication, real accountability, and project management that keeps the whole thing predictable.

We translate your vision into a concrete specification — selecting the right technologies and setting a cost-conscious foundation. The decisions made here shape everything that follows, so we make them together, with the full lifecycle already in view.

Hardware, software, and mechanics developed in parallel, not in sequence — so problems surface early instead of at integration. You stay aligned throughout, with full visibility into the choices being made and why.

We verify performance against the real-world conditions your product will actually face — duty cycles, thermal loads, the environments it lives in — not just the minimum a certification demands. Compliance is the floor, not the goal.

We prepare the product for stable, scalable production — qualifying suppliers, locking processes, and running NPI. The transition from a working design to volume manufacturing is where quality and timelines are usually lost; we make sure they hold.

Consistent output at volume, backed by active supply chain management and strategic sourcing. We manage component availability and supplier risk continuously, so production stays stable long after launch.

A product that performs at launch has to keep performing. We manage component changes, redesigns, and long-term support — keeping your product viable, compliant, and competitive across its full commercial life.

When a product reaches the end of its run, we manage a controlled, predictable ramp-down — and carry everything we've learned straight into what comes next.

Platform & IPA Broad Platform Portfolio and Deep Audio IP

Technology

Pascal offers one of the audio industry's most comprehensive amplifier platform catalogs, with proven solutions from 60W to 4kW covering both low-impedance and high-impedance applications. Our platforms include networked audio over Dante Ultimo, DEP, and AES67; multiple DSP platforms built on Sigma and SHARC; a library of DSP processing algorithms; AES70 control; advanced speaker protection; and audio UI/UX designed for the specific applications and users our customers' products serve.

We've built deep IP across the signal chain — amplification, DSP algorithms, control protocols, networking, embedded software, and the UI layer that brings it together for the end user.

Because our platforms are continuously refined and extended, most projects start from a working baseline rather than a blank sheet. That translates directly into better performance, shorter development time, and a more competitive price.

Every discipline, in-house, in Denmark.

Engineering Expertise Across the Signal Chain

Pascal's R&D team covers every discipline needed to take an audio product from concept to certified, manufacturable hardware:

  • Analog hardware and switch-mode power electronics
  • Digital hardware
  • Embedded firmware
  • Software UI/UX, with a dedicated testing team
  • Mechanical engineering
  • EMC engineering, supported by our own in-house EMC facility
  • New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Compliance and quality engineering
  • Sustaining engineering, so products stay supported well beyond launch

Most Pascal engineers work directly on customer projects — custom solutions built around specific applications. R&D is based in Denmark, one of the world's strongest hubs for audio and power electronics, with hundreds of audio companies and the technical universities producing the engineering talent we hire from.

0.08% field return rate. Engineered, not inspected.

Built on Reliability and Accountability

A strong partnership depends on trust — and trust is built on consistent delivery.

At Pascal, reliability is engineered into everything we do:

  • Field return rate as low as 0.08%
  • Designs built for long product lifecycles
  • Continuous monitoring and improvement
  • Strong focus on real-world performance

This is supported by a relationship-driven and accountable way of working, where risks are identified early, communicated clearly, and handled proactively.

Structure and visibility, calibrated to your tier.

Execution You Can Rely On

We run projects with structure, discipline, and full visibility — calibrated to the tier you're engaged in. An ODM delivery is fast and transactional. An ODM+ programme involves regular alignment through the adaptation phase. A JDM engagement runs on weekly or bi-weekly alignment meetings, defined milestones, and full visibility into progress, risks, and decisions throughout the development cycle.

Across all three:

  • Clear ownership and responsibility
  • Transparent communication, calibrated to the project
  • Full visibility into what matters for your product

Typical timelines: ODM 4–6 months, ODM+ 6–12 months, JDM 12–18 months from concept to mass production.

We help you bring audio products to market

Built for Long Solid Partnerships

At Pascal, we don't just deliver products — we help brands bring audio products to market at the level of engagement that fits.

Through Pascal Custom Solutions, we offer:

  • Three partnership tiers — ODM, ODM+, and JDM — to match your needs
  • Integrated development and manufacturing across all tiers
  • Full lifecycle ownership at every tier
  • High reliability and consistent performance
  • Solutions tailored to your design language and brand identity
  • Transparent and aligned collaboration

All delivered through a relationship-driven and accountable way of working, with no surprises.

A completely reasonable place to be.

Not Sure Which Tier Fits?

Whether the right fit is an ODM, ODM+, or JDM engagement — we'll be direct about what we think makes sense for your situation. No sales process, no pressure. Some of our strongest partnerships started with a conversation where the honest answer was "ODM for now, JDM in two years." Others started with a conversation where the honest answer was "not yet." We can have either of those conversations with you.
